1. Hygiene and Production Standards

Miracle Greens operates as an indoor microgreens producer following high hygiene and food safety standards. All microgreens are grown in controlled conditions using sanitised equipment, clean growing media, and food-safe handling procedures.

Our internal practices include:

  • regular cleaning and sanitising of trays, tools and surfaces,

  • safe storage of seeds,

  • use of gloves and proper hand hygiene,

  • monitoring of temperature and humidity,

  • prevention of contamination and pests,

  • use of food-grade packaging materials.

These procedures are aligned with guidelines recommended by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) for small food businesses.

2. Allergen Information

Miracle Greens grows a range of microgreens, including one regulated allergen under UK law:

Mustard Microgreens — Contains Mustard (allergen).

All other microgreens do not contain any of the 14 regulated allergens. However, because mustard is produced within the same facility, cross-contamination cannot be fully eliminated. Therefore, all non-mustard products carry the following precautionary statement:

May contain traces of mustard
or
Produced in a facility that handles mustard.

This precaution is recommended for transparency and customer safety.

3. Brassica Microgreens

Several of our products belong to the Brassica family (radish, kale, broccoli). Brassica vegetables are not classified as allergens under UK food law. However, some individuals may be sensitive to this group.

For clarity, products containing Brassica microgreens may include the following optional statement:

Contains Brassica microgreens. Not suitable for individuals sensitive to Brassica vegetables.

  • Daikon Radish

  • Rambo Radish

  • China Rose Radish

  • Mustard (contains allergen)

  • Pink Kale

  • Red Russian Kale

  • Broccolio Calabrese

  • Amaranth

  • Tendril Pea

  • Red Lentil

  • Tiny Sunflower

All products are plant-based and contain no additives or preservatives.

5. UK List of the 14 Mandatory Allergens

Under UK Food Information Regulations, the following allergens must be declared:

  1. Cereals containing gluten

  2. Crustaceans

  3. Eggs

  4. Fish

  5. Peanuts

  6. Tree nuts

  7. Soybeans

  8. Milk

  9. Celery

  10. Mustard

  11. Sesame

  12. Sulphur dioxide and sulphites

  13. Lupin

  14. Molluscs

Miracle Greens does not use any of the above allergens in production, except for mustard.

6. Cross-Contamination Policy

Although strict hygiene measures are followed, the presence of mustard microgreens in the facility means that cross-contamination is possible. Equipment is sanitised between batches, seeds are stored separately, and internal allergen protocols are followed, but total separation cannot be guaranteed.
